Q: Can I have my original drawings held at Pro Copy for future printing?
A: Yes, many of our customers prefer that we store their originals for them, allowing
contractors to order and purchase prints directly from us. Just attach a note to your
original workorder requesting that we store your drawings for you.
Q: How can I order prints on projects that are being held at Pro Copy?
A: You just need to call or fax the Pro Copy location where the originals are being
held and place an order for prints. Make sure that you tell us the project name and
number, and the architect's name. Pro Copy is introducing a new service that will
allow you to view and order prints over the internet.
Q: How long does it take to get prints from jobs that are being held at Pro Copy?
A: Typically, orders that are placed before noon are usually ready for pickup or delivery
that afternoon. Orders received after noon will generally be ready the next morning. These
are general guidelines, as the actual turnaround time will depend on current workloads and
the size of the job (quantity of prints) requested by the customer. Contact the department
manager for accurate turnaround times.
Large Format Black and White Copies (Xerox 8855)
Q: What is the largest size copy you can make?
A: Large format copies can be produced up to 36" wide by almost any manageable length.
Q: What kind of material can you copy onto?
A: Bond, Heavy Presentation Bond, Vellum, or Mylar.
Q. What are the maximum enlargement and reduction ratios?
A. We can reproduce originals over a wide range of enlargement and reduction ratios
ranging from 25% to 400% in a single step.
Q: Can you enlarge black and white pictures and newspapers?
A: Yes.
Q: Can you make photocopies of unusual sized originals?
A: Yes, we can. We can copy well logs, seismic graphs, maps, charts,
medical X-rays, or just about anything you need reproduced.
Q: What type of files can you print from?
A: We can print from any of the following file types: .tiff, .pdf, .plt, .cal, .jpg.
Q: How do I convert .dwg files into .plt files?

Q: Can you scan oversized sheets in color?
A: Yes, Pro Copy has the ability to scan in color up to 36" wide by 500".
Small Format Black and White Copies (Digital IR 600 & IR 7200)
Q: What is the heaviest stock you can run on your copies?
A: Up to 110 lb. index stock.
Q: What paper sizes can you copy on?
A: From 8.5" x 11" up to 11" x 17". For larger sizes, contact our Xerox 8855 department.
Q: Can you print from digital files, and how should they be formatted?
A: Yes, we can print from digital files. Postscript or PDF files are preferred,
and when possible, provide a hard copy proof to go by.
Digital Color Laser Printing (Fiery)
Q: What application programs does Pro Copy support for the production of color laser prints?
A: Corel Draw, PageMaker, Freehand, PhotoShop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Q: What should I include when I send in a file for color laser print production?
A: You should include the original file, plus all fonts or placed images used in the presentation.
Also include a hard copy proof.
Q: Can I submit my file via email?
A: Yes, files can be submitted via email or FTP. Large files (over 10 MB) should be
sent in on disk or FTP to ensure that they are received properly. Always include your
name, phone number, company name and billing/delivery instructions on your e-mail requests
or FAX instructions.
Q: Will Pro Copy make corrections to my file for me?
A: Pro Copy does not make corrections to any file sent in for production without direction
from the client. All files submitted for production are processed as-is unless other instructions
have been agreed upon between Pro Copy and the customer.
Q: Is it possible to match pantone colors on a color laser printer?
A: Our color laser printers are CMYK devices and cannot guarantee exact Pantone matching.
If color is critical, we can provide you with sample color swatches of variations on the
required colors. This will allow you to choose the best match .
Q: Why do my images appear pixilated when I receive my copies back?
A: Either the resolution of the original placed image was too low, or the image was linked
to a file that was not given to us before printing.
Q: Is it possible to print double-sided copies with the registration marks matching up for each side?
A: The registration is not perfect on color laser printers. Your marks will be within a 1/4 inch of
each other on either side.
Q: Can we print on cardstock or glossy stock?
A: Yes, we can print on card stock up to 110 lbs., on glossy stock and on transfer paper.
Q: Can I send in my own stock for you to print my job on?
A: As long as your stock meets the weight and size requirements for our color laser printers,
we would be happy to use your stocks. However, we cannot guarantee quality of toner evenness or
adhesion, nor be responsible for waste due to paper jams during the run. Our top quality paper &
card stocks are designed and tested specifically for use on our color laser printers and are kept
in a temperature & humidity controlled environment, which significantly affects their ability to
run properly through the equipment.
Q: Is it possible to print full bleed 8 ½ x 11 and 11 x 17?
A: Yes, we can print full bleed 8 ½ x 11 and 11 x 17, but you will be charged for the next larger
size due to the necessity of trimming from larger paper stock.
Q: What kind of turnaround time can I expect?
A: Most jobs can be turned around in as little as 24 hours from the time we receive it to
the time your job is delivered back to you. Although the specifics of each job are factors in
determining turnaround, same day turnarounds can be arranged on some jobs depending on size of
order and services needed, call us, we would be happy to assist you.
Pickup/Delivery
Q: Do you offer overnight delivery service?
A: Yes, we can ship to any destination via either ground or air.
Q: Does Pro Copy provide pickup and delivery service?
A: Yes. Please call Pro Copy to arrange for a pickup. We also provide return delivery
of your finished job. All of this is free of charge.
Weekend and Afterhours Production
Q: Does Pro Copy do weekend or after hours productions?
A: Pro Copy offers weekend or after hour service upon request. Just give us a call to discuss
your timetable and the details of your project and we'll schedule the staff and equipment to
complete your job.
